FAQ
Answers to common questions about invites, booking flow, privacy, and Sittership Plus.
How do I join a household?
Ask the household admin to invite you. Open the invite link, sign in, and your profile will appear on that household's sitter bench.
Why can a request disappear from my list?
Sittership books the first approved sitter to accept. Once booked, that open request is no longer available to others.
Is Sittership a sitter marketplace?
No. Sittership is a private coordination app. Families invite and approve their own sitters, and there is no public directory.
Does Sittership vet or background-check sitters?
No. Households make their own approval decisions. Sittership does not vet, certify, or background-check sitters.
Who pays for Sittership Plus?
Household owners subscribe through the iOS App Store. Invited sitters and co-parents can use the app for free inside that household.
What is Sitter Pro?
Sitter Pro is an optional upgrade for sitters. It adds a shareable verified sitter card, unlimited warm intros to new families, an earnings export for taxes, a read-only calendar subscription, and one-tap payment reminders. Sitting itself stays free.
Do I need Sitter Pro to get booked?
No. Joining a household, accepting requests, posting availability, and getting booked are always free. Sitter Pro only adds extra tools for sitters who want to grow.
What is the Village?
Your Village is the inner circle of your sitter bench. When you post a need with "Ask your Village first", those sitters get first dibs, and the rest of your bench is notified automatically if no one accepts in time.
What are warm intros?
A warm intro lets a household recommend one of its trusted sitters to another family with a private link. The sitter has to opt in to being open to new families first, and there is never a public listing.
What are endorsements?
Endorsements are short references a family can write only after a completed sit together — not anonymous ratings. Sitters choose which endorsements appear on their sitter card.
Can we schedule recurring needs?
Yes. Household admins can set recurring needs so future sits are posted automatically ahead of time.
Can families and sitters message each other?
Yes. Households can chat with notified sitters before booking and with the confirmed sitter after. Confirmed sitters also send updates and a recap during and after the sit.
Does Sittership process payments?
No. Sittership tracks what's paid and can send friendly reminders, but you pay sitters however you already do — Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, Cash App, Apple Cash, or cash.
How do I delete my account?
Open the Profile tab on web or iOS and choose account deletion. This removes your data and any households you own.
